This dissertation focuses on the synthesis of potentially pharmacologically relevant peptidomimetic structures. Of central importance is the use of multicomponent reactions, as well as the avoidance of protective group chemistry, so that the target molecules or suitable precursors for a subsequent cyclization are built up in a highly efficient manner. The sequential use of ASINGER- and UGI-reaction, followed by intramolecular cyclization, leads to the formation of different diketopiperazine derivatives. Benzodiazepinediones are also synthesized via a UGI-reaction. The synthesis of iminodicarboxylic acid derivatives takes place by a reaction sequence of ASINGER-reaction, followed by two UGI-reactions. In the context of this work N unprotected thiazolidinecarboxylic acids are used for the first time in the PASSERINI reaction and thus thiazolidine-containing depsipeptide-like structures are built up. Finally, this work turns to the synthesis of triazole-containing peptidomimetics.
<dt.>
In this work, the results of syntheses of ligand-stabilzed platinum nanoparticles and the characterization of monometallic platinum and bimetallic platinum-tin nanoparticles by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are presented. The field of applications of the particles is heterogeneous catalysis. The syntheses of platinum nanoparticles are based on concepts adopted from the literature. By variation of the reaction conditions, particles with sizes and shapes which are not described in the original literature could be obtained. The focus of the XPS-measurement was the characterization of Pt-Sn nanoparticles. In these particles, platinum is metallic while tin is in an oxidized state. The quantitative analysis reveals that tin is enriched at the surface for most of the particles. Changes of the particle properties after a thermal treatment were also investigated. <engl.>
<dt.>
The outline of this PhD thesis is concerned with the study of morphologic and electronic characteristics of cerium dioxide (111) thin films on a ruthenium (0001) crystal as a model system for heterogenous catalysis. The focus in this thesis is on oxygen vacancies in the O-Ce-O oxide layers, which control the catalytic activity of the model system and are introduced by annealing the film at highly reducing conditions. Under the same focus is the distribution of the copper nano-particles on the surface of the oxide films. Copper rather prefers to donate charges to Ce ions in the film that consequently transform from Ce^4+ to Ce^3+. Clear evidence for this comes from XPS investigations. The impact of the copper ad-particles on the degree of reduction is strong enough to drive the highest degree of reduction from former 17% to over 50% in the near surface regime. This means the amount of Ce^3+ ions in the film is comparable to that of the bixbyite stoichiometry of ceria (Ce_2O_3). <engl.>
