Major aspects of mobile interaction research are the limited input and output capabilities of mobile devices. Technological development makes it possible to seek new solutions for supporting mobile users. Mobile interaction with the real world addresses these aspects by adopting innovative technologies to use mobile devices as tools to interact with the real world. These proceedings contain ten selected contributions spanning from the usage of external visual interfaces, gestural input techniques, innovative applications and underlying frameworks for mobile interaction with the real world. <engl.>

11th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services (MOBILEHCI 09) Red Hook, NY : Curran, 2009 (2009), Seite 170-179 286 S.
The Mobile HCI community is moving beyond the interaction between a single user and her device and proceeds to taking the user's environment into account. The Mobile Interaction with the Real World workshop series provides a forum which concentrates on using mobile devices as tools to interact with the real world. These proceedings contain eleven papers with topics such as interaction with physical maps, social networks, and public media. We hope that the union of the individual contributions provides interesting insights to the reader. <engl.>
