<dt.>
For industrial companies and logistics systems that want to forecast their electricity consumption of the next day it seems promising to integrate knowledge of their own planned operating procedures into the forecasting process. This thesis systematically examines how the planned operating data of a modern maritime container terminal with predominantly electrified handling processes can be integrated into various load curve forecasting procedures. For this purpose, approaches from the fields of time series analysis, artificial intelligence and simulation are considered. Additionally, a new approach is developed and presented that is based on Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) methods. Both the effects of knowledge integration and the forecast results of the individual approaches are compared using a case study. In addition to the quality of the forecast, criteria such as the transferability or comprehensibility of the approaches are also considered. <engl.>
<dt.>
Due to the ongoing energy transition, the stability of the power grid will depend on the behaviour of small decentralized devices. Stability can be achieved by using distributed energy management algorithms. However, due to their complexity, a comparison or evaluation of such algorithms is difficult. Central factors for their evaluation are the energy management quality as well as the communication requirements. The simulator SiENA, allowing the simulation the power consumption of households, as well as their communication behaviour when participating in an energy management, is presented. The simulator supports various communication technologies and three different energy management algorithms. Simulation results indicated significant different performance of the algorithms. For evaluation, the number of households, their devices and communication parameters are varied. Based on normalised metrics for the energy management quality and the communication requirements, the suitability of the management algorithms is rated. Finally, strengths and weaknesses of the algorithms are discussed and suggestions for improvements are elaborated. <engl.>
<dt.>
The introduction of distributed renewable power units (RPU) changes the operation of electrical power systems. RPU take over tasks of conventional power plants such as energy supply and the provision of ancillary services. The ancillary service provision must be reliable in order to guarantee secure system operations. In this thesis, the RelACs-method is introduced to assess coalitions, i.e. aggregations of RPU, with respect of how reliably they are able to provide ancillary services, particularly for the use case of providing primary control reserves. The RelACs-method incorporates uncertainties induced by unit failures and forecast errors as well as dependencies between units. The RelACs-method can be used to guarantee that a coalition is able to fulfil specific reliability requirements. Furthermore, the RelACs-method is used to derive recommendations for the choice of inputs to coalition forming given different conditions. <engl.>
<dt.>
To ensure a constant power frequency the permanent balance of power demand and supply is the most crucial constraint in an electrical power system. Therefore there is a need for reserve and balancing power to cover prediction-deviations or unpredictable events. Due to the former hierarchical and centralized structure of the European electricity sector, the current design for the dimensioning of necessary reserves and its reliable provision is still a statical method. In contrast, the increase of generation from renewable resources makes the system become more and more decentralized and complex. The goal of this work is to identify today’s altered circumstances and to develop a dynamic strategy, which factors these in. The result is a flexible forecasting model based on methods of statistical learning, especially k-nearest neighbors and gradient boosting trees designed to predict future system imbalances. <engl.>
